LOCAL QUILT SHOW



Well tommorrow my freind Mandy and her little boy are going to local quilt show just up the road from where we live. We usuually go every year but somehow we missed it last time, don't know how! It is usally a good afternoon out ,lots to see and ususally get some bargins one way or another. They have raffles which are really great. lots to see. Last time we went to a grandmothers garden day out with jamie and we thought he would get bored but he found an empty room with big cardboard tubes from fabric.... kept him amused for ages.!! they do say give kid a big box and it is better than any fancy old toy. It is so true.

MY 2ND BLOCK OF A TISKET A TASKET.

I used a pretty glitter fabric i found in my stash for the hearts, and did a little embellishment to liven it up abit.

This is my first block complete of the tisket , a tasket. free b.o.m. by bunnyhill. I just added buttons. I used sparkly leaves but they don't really show up in the pic.

A SCRAPPY BARGELLO.






I saw this quick and simple scrappy bargello on a blog last week and had to have a go. It is fast and fun to make . I like the idea of a scrappy look as anything goes! an excellent way to use up your ''oddball'' colours that are left over from previous projects. you sew strips together totally random and end up with a coulourful quilt. This is Glynnis, the birthday girl, she wa s 6o . Her youngest daughter, kirri, made her a delicious chocolate mudcake! You can see the pic printed on the cake when she was a bit younger.
