NEW CHOOKS.

My mum bought me some new chooks for xmas. We found an ad in the local paper and they were only 3 k up the main rd here in paeroa, where she lives. They are brown shavers. They have been in with a rooster too! So the eggs are probably fertile for maybe a week?? So we are going to save the 1st eggs and then i will take them home and put them under one of my other old girls and hopefully they will hatch.... if they do i hope there is hardly any roosters!! The man i got them off tryed to sell me a huge rooster!! He was called a 'barney velder'. and then he asked if i wanted an 'araucana' too. They lay the lite blue eggs, but no i don't want one. We will just see what happens. We will probably go back to Auckland towards the weekend i suppose. no pics, coz mr nobody dropped my camera and i don't have a nother one as yet. I really miss it! Nevermind.

Thanks chookyblue for hosting this, lots of fun to see all other bloggers pressys too. I had to use my phone as my camera is kaput! mr nobdy dropped it i think but he doesn't live here anymore, funny that. . . . . .

THE GIFTS I MADE FOR SSCS.



This is the ornament i made for vanessa she loved it! mine hangs around all year. the other part i cannot show you. I also sent her two dogs a bandana each from the child cancer foundation , for them to wear, the same as our dog, poppy, does. She gets a couple each year, she has quite a selection of colour to wear now.lol!

sorry about the terrible colour but i cant't figure out why it goes pink when the flash is on and it goes abit too dark with it off! but you can get the general idea of what it looks like.

MY SSCS GIFTS.

Here is a couple of pics of my sscs gifts i received from vickie. one cute cross stitched tree ornament , reversible, and one to open xmas day . All wrapped up in a pretty peice of christmas fabric that can be used for a future project sometime. The other yo-yo ornament is one i had a go at from one of the blogs, it came out well and was quite easy to make so i might do some later on in other colours for next year. My swap was sent to vanessa who received it last week also. Today i am working on getting my finale bunnyhill block put together. I'm about halfway i think. No rush , just doing bits when i feel like it.

BLOCK 11 BUNNYHILL.

well i completed my 11th block of bunnyhill. It turned out quite well. Just one more to go.... wonder what it will be?? I have also been doing some more on my willowberry stichery bom too. up to doing the borders now . I just got to pick some colours then get into it.

SSCS PARCEL!



yesterday I received my SSCS parcel. It came from Vickie who lives in australia. Thanks vickie, I love the ornament. It is a cross stitched reversible hanging ornament but i can't show you because he camera has packed a sad and everything comes out pink! Don't know what is wrong with it yet. i will open the other one closer toxmas i think......if i can wait that long.

Today I am trying to finish my bunnyhill bom block. It's nearly done just got to stitch my bird down. Then it will be just 1 more block to do.
I have joined a group on flicker that will be doing "Tea cups and coffeepots". That will be starting next year in january. just post 1 block a month. i should be able to manage that.

I WONDER WHY THESE BIRDS ARE SO FAT!

Well it's because they are stuffing their bellies full of new young kowhai tree shoots! My tree never has leaves on the branches except for the ends. They are to heavy to balance themselves there to be able to eat! I was about 3 feet away from this one as he sat there eating! His mate was there too but flew up to a high tree when he heard the door open. Here is a BIRDSEYE view!! he he!
