I've managed to get one more  block done of my fqsqal.  This is number 2 quilt, block 7  (I still have to do 8 & 9).  These blocks were made using templates except for the centers.   I forgot that you must cut each template with the right side of the fabric facing up so I ended up with pairs rather than all for one side.  But I got here in the end.  I actually traced my template onto freezer

Well I just started this last night while watching some tv.  I haven't finished my other ripple blanket yet but not too much to do.  I just felt like having something small to do instead of a hot blanket sitting on my knee.  I am trying out this pattern from my book . Block 6-catherdral windows of fqsqal This block is called 'cathedral windows' . It goes together so easily, it almost makes itself!  I loved doing this one!  I have top stiched the window in green contrast on the orange. I might do the pieced center on my other block of this . I made this beaded bauble from julia's  blog.  My first attempt at this.  I want to make some more over the break. On Wednesday evening I burnt my hand . I was cooking chips in a chip pot of oil and it was turned off and pushed to the side but was still in my way and i pushed it and hot oil splashed out the side of the pot and got me!  Boy did that hurt!  I shoved my hand under the cold tap and had it there for about 4 or 5 minutes . Last weekend I managed to do one of the blocks in the FQSQAL . This is block 4-quilt 2. I had abit of a problem cutting the squares...i kept reading the instructions wrong and cut the wrong fabrics, not once but two times!. got there in the end. Well while I was away at my mums in the school holidays I managed to get a couple of borders done around this blanket .  I have done 2 rows around and will do a green one . Well just lately I have been doing a bit of  crochet. I have made a few of these pot holders. The centre is the African flower hexagon and rounds have then been added to however big you want to make it, then i made a back  to it  so it is a decent thickness . One is a table mat as it has no loop hanger.  They are quite easy to make too. The pattern is on alice's blog

Last week I saw these pens on  Trade me (nz),  so i bought one to try . I've done a little sample of how it draws and  the colour.  It is lovely to draw on the fabric,  fairly smooth and you get a fine line .  They are called,   'air erasable' pen by 'sewline'.  You trace your stitchery and  the lines  will stay anything  from 2-10 days  according to the packet. Is this an egg or what? Well the other day i went to collect my hens eggs and this is what i found! This really huge egg! This is the fourth one i have had like this. The first one weighed in at 98 grams...the next 102gm... then 104gm.. then the latest weighed in at 106grams! THE GIFTS I MADE FOR SSCS.This is the ornament i made for vanessa she loved it! mine hangs around all year. the other part i cannot show you. I also sent her two dogs a bandana each from the child cancer foundation , for them to wear, the same as our dog, poppy, does. MY SSCS GIFTS.Here is a couple of pics of my sscs gifts i received from vickie. one cute cross stitched tree ornament , reversible, and one to open xmas day . All wrapped up in a pretty peice of christmas fabric that can be used for a future project sometime. The other yo-yo ornament is one i had a go at from one of the blogs, it came out well and was quite easy to make so i might do some later

BLOCK 11 BUNNYHILL.well i completed my 11th block of bunnyhill. It turned out quite well. Just one more to go.... wonder what it will be?? I have also been doing some more on my willowberry stichery bom too. up to doing the borders now . I just got to pick some colours then get into it.

SSCS PARCEL!yesterday I received my SSCS parcel. It came from Vickie who lives in australia. Thanks vickie, I love the ornament.
